Christmas is upon us

And a number of things are happening. Firstly, Debbie has produced a club newsletter which will be winging its way to you shortly. Secondly, the Christmas meal is being organised by Ed Quah so get in touch ASAP before it's too late.

Here is the newsletter in case you can't wait for it. Click Here

New Season Begins

All our teams either stayed where they were or progressed up the divisions. We now have teams in Herts Div 1, Middlesex Div 2 and Hammersmith Div 1 so have plenty of challenges ahead. A few fresh members have been drafted in along with some golden oldies returning from injuries so it should be another most enjoyable season. The fixture list is now available here though the Away Venues have yet to be updated.

Photos of the London Badmintonathon are now in my posession so if anyone wants their photos then please contact me via this website.

London Badmintonathon - Success

The big event this year with both Northwood Sports Centre and Northwood Badminton Club both celebrating their 30th year. Badminton needs a boost and a lot of publicity so this is our chance to get the public playing. We are also trying to raise some cash for "Help A London Child".

Click here for more details on the event.

Many thanks also to the four brave ladies who tried out pyjama badminton to make sure that it was practical and fun to do. Lesley, Vasi, Debbie and Joanna all wowed the club in their pj's and gave Vasi a nice picture to take with her to Dubai.

Debbie's Wedding

Debbie is now married, to Ian, and they are back from their honeymoon exhausted.
Many congratulations and we wish them a very happy future.
So next time you're playing against her remember not to tire her out too much as she has better things to use the energy for. Anyway you'll be too busy avoiding her attacking net shots to think about tiring her out.

Ladies Open Day on 1st May

To strengthen our female membership we are opening the club night on the above date to make it free for visiting ladies.   A chance for all you girls to play some challenging ladies games for free and get up-to-date on all the gossip (from Nigel and Ed).
It will also be a chance for us to try out some of our younger ladies in the club to make sure the older generation can hack getting whupped by them.  And Joanna has to defend her position of No 1 lady after winning the Yuill Cup.

Yuill Cup Results

Winners were Diluka and Joanna, runners up were Satheesh and Asiah and in third place Dinuka and Vasi.  As always, Steve our club secretary and John who did a great job of organising the tournament managed to get themselves into the photo.
Top marks to all other competitors who provided a challenging, entertaining event. Click the image to get a large view or a B&W one is here.
